Responsibilities
- Manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Interpret insurance policies and draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and disclaimer letters
- Litigate insurance coverage matters, including handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic advice and regular case updates
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups to develop innovative, client-focused solutions
Qualifications
- JD degree with strong academic credentials
- Admission to the California Bar required
- 4+ years of insurance coverage and/or coverage litigation experience
- Demonstrated experience interpreting insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and litigating coverage matters involving general liability, professional liability (E&O), Directors & Officers (D&O), employment practices liability, cyber, and/or financial institutions coverage
- Exceptional writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Base Salary Range
$150,000 – $200,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary represents one component of Kaufman Dolowich’s comprehensive Total Rewards package, which also includes a discretionary and billable hours-based bonus program and a robust benefits offering for full-time employees.
