The Dallas office of Kaufman Dolowich LLP, an AV-rated national law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join our growing Dallas office. This position provides comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling a variety of civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced law firm environment while delivering exceptional client service.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through resolution.
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and e-file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain and organize electronic case files and documents utilizing the Firm's document management systems.
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, court appearances, depositions, mediations, hearings, client meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Monitor case deadlines and assist in ensuring compliance with court rules and scheduling orders.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors.
  • Assist with the preparation of exhibits, witness files, deposition materials, and trial binders.
  • Process attorney time entries, expense reports, and assist with billing activities as needed.
  • Support attorneys in managing workloads and maintaining accurate case information.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Perform other administrative and litigation support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a busy litigation practice.
  • Knowledge of Texas state and federal court filing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of litigation terminology, procedures, and document preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with document management and legal practice technologies preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
